Practical Example Calculation
Scenario Context: A student completes 3 semesters: Sem 1 (GPA 3.40, 15 credits), Sem 2 (GPA 3.60, 16 credits), Sem 3 (GPA 3.80, 12 credits).
Step 1: Sem 1 Quality Points: 3.40 × 15 = 51.0.
Step 2: Sem 2 Quality Points: 3.60 × 16 = 57.6.
Step 3: Sem 3 Quality Points: 3.80 × 12 = 45.6.
Step 4: Total Credits: 15 + 16 + 12 = 43 credits.
Step 5: Total Quality Points: 51.0 + 57.6 + 45.6 = 154.2.
Step 6: Divide points by credits: 154.2 ÷ 43 = 3.586.
The overall CGPA is 3.59 across all three semesters.
