Practical Example Calculation
Scenario Context: Finding the duration between 8:45 PM and 2:15 AM the next morning.
Step 1: Convert start time to 24-hour: 8:45 PM = 20:45.
Step 2: Convert end time to 24-hour: 2:15 AM = 02:15.
Step 3: Since end time is earlier than start time, add 24 hours to the end time: 02:15 + 24:00 = 26:15.
Step 4: Subtract: 26 hours 15 minutes - 20 hours 45 minutes.
Step 5: Subtract minutes: 15 - 45 (borrow 1 hour, making it 75 - 45 = 30 mins).
Step 6: Subtract hours: 25 - 20 = 5 hours.
